چکیده

Abstract Hypertrophic osteopathy (HO) is a pathological condition characterized by progressive, bilateral and symmetrical periosteal bone hyperostosis. considered secondary disease that occurs as consequence of many chronic processes, which are primarily localized in the thoracic cavity (intrathoracic lesions), less result changes abdominal (extrathoracic lesions). We describe case 3.5-year-old female unneutered short-haired cat with history weight loss, decreased appetite, dyspnea, wet cough. During native X-ray examination cavity, clearly limited homogeneous radiopaque shadow covered entire was found, well periostitis front limbs, mainly on humeri, radii ulnae. After euthanizing cat, control necropsy body performed. The revealed soft-tissue proliferation measuring 13 x 5 4 cm weighing 228 g, pronounced ossified periostosis long bones, while histopathological findings adenocarcinoma lung metastasis to mediastinal lymph nodes. outcome hypertrophic mostly depends primary cause. If initial lesion had been identified removed time, would have also receded spontaneously. tool determining diagnosis. Considering determination this an indicator ongoing severe disease, especially its early diagnosis lead prolongation animal's life.

Hypertrophic osteopathy associated with aortic thrombosis in a dog

Background: Aortic thrombosis (ATh) is an uncommon problem in dogs. Although the pathogenesis of hypertrophic osteopathy (HO) is unknown, it is thought this can be due to blood flow disorder. In this case, removal of aortic thromboembolism (ATE) resulted in periosteal proliferation. Case description: A 4.8-kg, 3-year-old, intact female Maltese was referred with...

Hypertrophic osteopathy in a cat with a concurrent injection-site sarcoma

Case summary An 11-year old neutered female domestic shorthair cat presented for investigation of a large, partially ulcerated skin mass in the area of the left scapula. The cat had been vaccinated 6 weeks previously in the same area. Haematology showed a marked neutrophilia and monocytosis. Tru-cut biopsies were taken and histopathology was consistent with a high-grade soft tissue sarcoma. Tho...

Hypertrophic osteopathy in a dog associated with intra-thoracic lesions: a case report and a review

This paper reviews hypertrophic osteopathy and describes one case report. Hypertrophic osteopathy is a rare pathologic disease process and is observed secondary to a mass in the thorax. In response to the presence of a mass(es), nonoedematous soft tissue swellings and a diffuse periosteal new bone formation develop in all four limbs. The result is mild to severe lameness. A twelve-year-old sexu...

Gene Regulation Network Based Analysis Associated with TGF-beta Stimulation in Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells

Background: Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β is over-expressed in a wide variety of cancers such as lung adenocarcinoma. TGF-β plays a major role in cancer progression through regulating cancer cell proliferation and remodeling of the tumor micro-environment. However, it is still a great challenge to explain the phenotypic effects caused by TGF-β stimulation and the effect of TGF-β stimulatio...

Hypertrophic osteopathy associated with a bronchial foreign body (grass awn) in a dog: a case report

A five-year-old dog was referred with a five-month history of lethargy, decreased appetite, cough and intermittent forelimb lameness. Radiographs revealed an intra-thoracic lesion and a marked periosteal bone apposition of the second digit on the left forelimb. As it was palisading and circumferential, the latter appeared typical of hypertrophic osteopathy (HO). A grass awn in a sub-lobar ramif...
